As Galactosaemia is a rare disease there are not many conferences held about it. In 1993 the company SHS sponsored a conference in Fulda, Germany which was attended by a lot of doctors from around the world who gave speeches on the topic of galactosaemia.

It was the first conference after 25 years on this subject!!!

In the last years doctors around the world have done many new studies with a lot of interesting results. This is the reason why the EGS is very grateful that SHS choose again galactosaemia as the topic for the conference in November 2005.

The 42nd Annual Symposium of the SSIEM 2005 took place from 6th - 9th September 2005 in Paris. The topic was "Treatment of Inborn Errors of Metabolism".
